About Me

I’m still a big kid at heart.

Hi! I’m Jessica. Welcome to my little spot online. I’m so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in a small town in Indiana. I married my college sweetheart who I totally credit for helping me pass my college math classes. And yep, you guessed it, I moved with him to another small town in Indiana. We bought a fixer up farm house, and we’ve made it our mission to bring it back to life. As we’ve aged, we’ve discovered that we are slowly working together to create the home place that our grandparents had. We love to garden together, and each year, we find ourselves growing more and more in our not so little garden. We even can and freeze what we grow!

Together we have two very active and hilarious boys ages 7 1/2 and 11 (and no, there aren’t any plans for a girl in our future). I also teach first grade. I’ve been a teacher for 15 years now. And let me tell you, things sure have changed in that time! When I became a mom, I really started to struggle with keeping up the chores around the house and finding time to just enjoy my family. Over the years, I’ve made finding a balance between home and work a priority. I know each person’s situation is different, but if I can help even one person, then I’ve made a difference. My goal is to share with you simple, yet effective tips and recipes for cooking, baking, and living to help you find a better work-home-life balance. So sit down, relax, and take a look around.

I just love, love, LOVE my boys!
