Lemon Yellow Squash Whoopie Pies

Lemon Yellow Squash Whoopie Pies

It’s one of the most exciting times of the year around our house! (Sadly, no it’s not Christmas yet. That is THE most exciting time of the year around here.) The garden is beginning to overflow with all the fruits of our labor. And one

Rhubarb Biscuit Bake

Rhubarb Biscuit Bake

Nothing quite says summer time to me like rhubarb. Growing up, we lived just across the field from my grandparents. One of my greatest joys was getting bored in the evenings and walking down the road to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to see what they

Quick Doughnuts

Quick Doughnuts

Don’t I look like I was quite the spunky little thing once upon a time ago? I had to have been 7 or 8 in this picture, and that outfit was my absolute FAVORITE in the whole entire world. One thing that I LOVED doing even way back then was cooking and baking. And thankfully my mom fed into my love for it even when my brother, sister, and I woke her up at 6:00 on a Saturday morning. One of my fondest memories of those early Saturday mornings, was when my mom would make doughnuts with us. The little doughnut shop in our town was rather expensive for our family, so my mom found a way to still let us indulge in our love for donuts and spend some quality time with us. While these donuts aren’t quite the same as what you’d find at the doughnut shop, I still have fond memories of them, and I enjoy carrying on the tradition and making them with my own kids on lazy Saturday mornings.

Planning A Week’s Worth of School Clothes

Planning A Week’s Worth of School Clothes

Let’s take a moment to be brutally honest. How easy is it for your child to pick out an outfit for school each morning and stick with that decision? If that answer floods your mind with cringe worthy memories and makes you want to stop

How to Create a Smooth Morning Routine for Your Child

How to Create a Smooth Morning Routine for Your Child

It’s inevitable. School is starting here in Indiana in just 4-6 weeks whether we’re ready or not! (I’m not sure why, but it felt like eLearning took 1,456 days to finish, and it feels like summer vacation has only last 2 weeks?!) And if you’re

Planning for School Morning Breakfasts and Lunches

Planning for School Morning Breakfasts and Lunches

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, on an early school day morning, making breakfasts and packing lunches could either make or break our day. I’m talking about how we could be running on time and suddenly the world falls apart because someone tiny doesn’t know what they want for breakfast. And then a few minutes later the world falls apart again when that same someone tiny doesn’t know what they want for lunch. And before we all know it, everyone is suddenly running late for work and school AND in grumpy moods. Sound familiar? Thankfully, I’ve figured out a way over the years to make the entire process as painless as possible.

Helping Your Child Wear a Mask at School

Helping Your Child Wear a Mask at School

School is starting in just a few short weeks whether we are ready or not. And there is absolutely no question that this school year is going to be unlike any other in the history of what we’ve experienced. If the thought of sending your

7 Pillars of the Mississinewa

Have you ever lived somewhere your entire life and thought to yourself, “How on Earth have I never visited this place?” Yeah, me too. These were the exact thoughts I had when we took the boys to visit the 7 Pillars of the Mississinewa. This

A Trip to the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky

A Trip to the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky

The boys were so fascinated!

I had NEVER been to an aquarium until I was an adult. I guess you could say I lived somewhat of a sheltered life. So when I had kids, I was determined not to let them miss out on some of those experiences, so as soon as they were old enough to go, away we went to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky! And let me say, it didn’t disappoint! (Plus Cincinnati, Ohio is literally just across the river. So there’s a TON to do if you’re up for an adventure.)

Homemade copycat Disney waffles

The Inspiration Ever since my boys were little and have known that a place called Disney World existed, they have wanted to go. (and every since their Momma has been little she has wanted to go too) That dream finally came true in 2019 when
