Temu. This new shopping site seems to be mentioned just about everywhere you turn these days. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been seeing ads for it for several weeks now. However, finding time to check it out hadn’t been a priority. But one rainy Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, I got curious and downloaded the app. Read on to find out more about this new shopping craze.

So What is Temu?

Temu is an online mega store that offers just about anything you can imagine. Need a new outfit? They’ve got it! Want a new juicer? You can bet they’ll have it? Looking for power tools? You’ve come to the right place. By now, you get my point…Temu has EVERYTHING! It’s kind of like Amazon.

Is it Too Good to be True?

We’re all familiar with the old saying that if something seems to good to be true, then it probably is. But my personal experience with Temu has been the exact opposite. Everything that I’ve ordered has arrived within 2-3 weeks of placing my order.

Tell Me More About Product Quality

The quality of the products you order will definitely depend upon the supplier you order from. I’ve found some of my products to be way better quality than others. That taught me to read item reviews very carefully and closely examine product pictures. This will help save you from any unpleasant surprises when your package arrives.

I’ve also discovered that sometimes there is more than one supplier selling the same item. So if I continue searching for the item, I can sometimes find a better quality item from a different supplier for nearly the same cost. So far I’ve happily ordered clothing, earrings, classroom supplies, home decor, and toys.

I’ve Heard Shipping Takes A While? Is that True?

Temu operates out of China. So if you’re in the United States, shipping will take awhile. The longest I have waited on an order is 3 weeks. Temu gives you an estimated time of when something will arrive. If it arrives after that estimate, you get a $5 credit. Score! Most of my packages have arrived within 2 weeks of the order being placed. So don’t order something you’ll need right away. And besides, it’s kind of fun to have something besides bills to look forward to in the mail.

But What About All the Online Warnings?

By now one of your online friends has probably copied and shared a warning about Temu from a “friend”. The warning probably alleges that the app will gain access to everything on your phone and stalks you. However, have you ever talked to someone about something you want to buy and then the ad appears for it on Amazon or Facebook? Kind of creepy isn’t it.

Temu isn’t any different than any of the other apps you already have installed on your phone. Did you know that in the U.S. there is no law to federally protect citizens’ user data? So most of the apps you have installed on your phone collect data that remains unregulated in most states. Interesting point to ponder, isn’t it?

If you’re willing to wait a few weeks to receive your order, are willing to shop around on the site, and read reviews, you can get some good deals on Temu. This could be especially helpful for people who want to buy gifts a little at a time so the cost isn’t so much at once.
