Planning a Disney World trip can be a daunting task. There are so many choices from where to stay, what to do, and where to eat. If you’re not looking to spend your life savings on a hotel but still want the Disney experience, then All-Star Movies Resort may be just the place you’re looking for.

Disney Theming

We stayed in the Toy Story section. It was so cool!

If you’re looking for an all encompassing Disney themed resort, then this is THE resort for you. The larger than life sized statues pay tribute to classic Disney movies. You feel like you’re a toy in Andy’s backyard as you stroll through Toy Story section. Or walk among the puppies in the 101 Dalmatians section. There are several other classic movies that are honored throughout the resort. Click here to go directly to Disney’s website to find out more.

The Pools

I snapped this picture one night after the pool had closed.

Yes, you read that correctly. It says pools, as in more than one! The main pool is a very large Fantasia themed pool where Sorcerer Mickey sprays water while you relax. There is also a kiddie pool and water play area nearby. This pool area is usually pretty busy. But we noticed if you swim early or late, it’s not that bad. And since it’s such a large pool, you can even enjoy your time while it’s busy. We did!

For the adults in the group, there is even a bar located right next to this pool. Kick back and enjoy a cocktail while the kids swim in the pool!

That brings me to the second pool. This pool is based on The Mighty Ducks movies. It’s a smaller pool, but usually less busy. And the hockey theming is ADORABLE! The day we went, we ended up having the entire pool to ourselves. I never would’ve imagined that would happen!

The Food Court

This isn’t your average food court. You’ll feel like you’ve walked straight into a grand movie theater lobby from the moment you step foot inside. The bright lights, shiny floors, movie theater decorations, and Disney movies playing in the dining room complete the theme.

This food court serves classic all-American food. Think burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, bacon and eggs, and waffles. There is even a bakery located inside the food court! We discovered the gigantic homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches! These are so big they can be a meal all by themselves.

I also really really LOVE that you can order your food from the app and then just swing by to pick it up. So easy!

Movies Under the Stars

On select nights, you can enjoy complimentary Disney movies under the stars. Our kids enjoyed Toy Story one evening when we returned early from the parks. The schedule is posted right outside The Reel Spot so you can plan ahead.

Complimentary Disney Buses

Who wants to spend their vacation driving and stressing over how to navigate new highways to get from place to place? NO ONE! That’s where complimentary Disney buses come in. They pick you up at the resort and drop you off at your desired park. You’re free to kick back after a long day at the parks and enjoy the air conditioned ride. My husband said not having to drive was one of his favorite things about our whole trip!

Recreation

While this is a value resort, there is still plenty to do. There’s a playground for kids to burn off some of their energy. If you’re wanting to make sure you get your workout in, there’s a one mile jogging trail around the resort. You can also find an arcade and gift shop located in the Cinema Hall building near the food court. Also be sure to check signs around the property for other fun activities like tie-dying t-shirts for a small fee.

Amenities

Because you’re staying at All-Star Movies, you’ll get complimentary merchandise delivery to the resort. That means if you buy something at the park, they’ll take it to your room for free. (Be sure to check and see if they’re still doing this because of COVID.)

Need to do laundry? No problem! There’s a 24 hour self-service laundry room available near the pools.

Need to send or receive mail? Again, not a problem! Guests can both send and receive mail while staying here.

They even offer online check in. So you can skip going to the front desk and check in from your phone. We did, and I’d recommend it to anyone. So easy! They’ll even text you your room number, instructions, and a map when your room is ready.

Like all other hotels, All-Star Movies Resort offers complimentary Wi-Fi Internet.

If you’d rather not take a Disney bus, they do offer standard self-serve overnight parking for a fee. They’ll just charge it to your bill upon checkout.

Rooms

Just chillin’ on their murphy bed. I love adorable picture above their heads!

While the rooms are pretty basic (remember, it’s a value hotel), they are all updated and comfortable. Each building has 3 levels with stairs and elevators. All rooms have outside doors. The floors are wood linoleum and tile. There are 2 beds in each room. One is a standard queen size bed, and the other is a queen size murphy bed. The beds were comfortable, and we got a great night’s sleep after full days at the parks.

Each room has a small coffee pot, hair dryer, and refillable shampoo and conditioner. It was so nice to not have to pack these things when flying. (Want to know what to pack for a trip? Check out this all inclusive post for the details!)

Each floor of the hotel also has ice machines. We took advantage of this, as we filled our water bottles with the ice each morning before hitting the parks.

There are also plenty of outlets to charge your devices. We loved that we could each lay on our own side of the bed and have our devices plugged in without being in each other’s way.

While the room may appear small at first, it worked out fine for our family of 4. We stored luggage under our beds, and we just pulled it out as needed. We knew the only time we’d be spending in our room would be to sleep and shower, so this room was perfect for us.

Summary

If you’re looking for a Disney experience for the whole family at a great price, then All-Star Movies is the resort for you. Of course it doesn’t have all the amenities that fancier Disney hotels have, but if you’re not planning on spending much time in your room, then this resort is perfect. We would totally stay here again!

And if you want to know more about what we did on our Disney trip when we weren’t in our room, you can read all about it here, here, here, and here. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and plan your dream trip!
